The New Cryochamber

Scientifically proven: Full-body cold chamber

The whole-body cold chamber has been the subject of numerous clinical studies and systematic reviews. Research shows that brief exposures to extremely low temperatures can trigger measurable physiological adaptive responses in the human body.

  • Inflammation: Scientific studies report changes in inflammation-related markers such as hs-CRP following serial applications in healthy adults, suggesting a modulation of inflammatory processes. (International Journal of Medical Research, 2024: https://www.i-jmr.org/2024/1/e60942/)
  • Sports and Exercise: In sports and exercise medicine, controlled studies show that whole-body cold chambers may be associated with a reduction in muscle soreness and improved subjective recovery following intense exercise. (Frontiers in Physiology / PubMed Central, 2017: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5411446/)
  • Chronic Pain: Furthermore, clinical studies in people with chronic pain suggest that repeated treatments may be associated with a reduction in pain intensity and functional improvements. (Randomized controlled trial, Low Back Pain, 2014: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/266680914)
  • Atopic dermatitis: Whole-body cryotherapy has also been scientifically studied in the context of inflammatory skin conditions. A clinical study shows that treatment three times a week in people with atopic dermatitis (neurodermatitis) can lead to a reduction in itching and an improvement in sleep quality. The authors attribute these effects to cold-induced neuroimmunological adaptive responses. (Arch Dermatol. 2008;144(6):806–808. doi:10.1001/archderm.144.6.806) Read the article
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis: Whole-body cryotherapy has been studied in controlled trials for inflammatory rheumatic diseases. A single-center, single-blind, randomized controlled trial shows that the use of a whole-body cold chamber in people with rheumatoid arthritis may be associated with a significant and clinically relevant reduction in pain and disease activity. The study also observed a reduction in the use of pain medications. The authors suggest that these effects may be attributable to changes in the levels of inflammation-related cytokines. (Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology, 2022. doi:10.55563/clinexprheumatol/lrff6k) View article
  • Abdominal obesity: Whole-body cryotherapy has also been clinically studied in the context of metabolic changes. A controlled study of menopausal women with metabolic syndrome showed that 20 sessions in a whole-body cold chamber, each lasting 3 minutes, were associated with a significant reduction in body mass, body mass index, waist circumference, and body fat percentage. The changes were particularly pronounced in abdominal and trunk-focused adipose tissue. The authors discuss that these effects may be indirectly mediated by cold-induced hormonal adaptations, including those involving irisin and interleukin-6. The study was conducted without any changes to diet or activity level. (Journal of Clinical Medicine, 2020; 9(9):2797. https://doi.org/10.3390/jcm9092797)

Cryo Paradox: Built for Perfection.
Made in Germany.

Two options – maximum flexibility in the room

The PARADOX cryochamber is available in two versions: with the door on the long side or the short side. This allows the chamber to be optimally adapted to different room sizes, floor plans, and traffic patterns.
This provides maximum flexibility during planning —whether for a studio, medical practice, hotel, or health center.

Made in Germany

Every PARADOX cryochamber is manufactured in Germany. This ensures high industrial quality, reliable engineering, and a design that is consistently geared toward durability and operational safety.

The system is designed for low-maintenance operation and requires no complex technology or traditional wear parts. With a total weight of approximately 700 kg, it is a robust, professional-grade device designed for long-term use in a professional setting.

Despite its high performance, the PARADOX cryochamber remains compact: With dimensions of 2560 mm x 1340 mm x 2300 mm (width x depth x height), it can be integrated into many studios, medical practices, or facilities—usually without the need for extensive renovations.

The housing can be custom-finished upon request, allowing it to blend harmoniously into a variety of room and interior designs.

Science Meets Experience

The PARADOX cryochamber was developed in collaboration with Pat Viroux, an internationally recognized expert in the field of cryotherapy. His more than 20 years of experience in recovery, sports medicine, and cryotechnology played a key role in the system’s design.

The result is a cryochamber designed for controlled, reproducible cold therapy applications while also enabling cost-effective, hassle-free operation. This allows the PARADOX to be flexibly integrated into a variety of settings—from studios and hotels to healthcare and therapy facilities.

Self-service mode included

The user selects the desired program on the tablet: Optionally, a ” Boost” can be selected, which provides an extra burst of cold at the end of the session.

As soon as the door is closed, a built-in door sensor automatically detects this and the timer starts on its own. The operation runs in a controlled manner for the preset duration.

When the session ends, the light turns green again—the user can open the door and leave the chamber.

Thanks to this straightforward operating logic, no constant supervision is required. The PARADOX cryochamber is designed for self-service operation, unlike systems in which staff must manually operate the door or monitor the process. After a one-time training session, users can perform the treatment on their own.
