THE IMPORTANCE OF THE VAGUS NERVE

The vagus nerve, also known as the relaxation nerve, plays a central role in the autonomic nervous system. This system controls vital bodily functions such as heartbeat, breathing and digestion without us having to consciously think about them. The vagus nerve ensures balance by restoring the body to a state of calm and relaxation after stressful situations. A well-functioning vagus nerve is crucial for our well-being, as it helps to lower blood pressure, promote digestion and strengthen the immune system. In our hectic world, it is more important than ever to support the health of this nerve in order to reduce stress and improve quality of life in the long term.

WHAT IS VAGUSVIT®

Vagusvit® is an app for targeted stimulation of the vagus nerve through breathing rhythms. It makes it possible to activate the relaxation nerve through certain breathing rhythms – e.g. 4 seconds inhalation and 6 seconds exhalation – anytime and anywhere. The app is aimed at doctors and alternative practitioners who want to support their patients in coping with stress, as well as patients who want to promote their own health. Vagusvit® offers a simple and effective method of improving the balance of the autonomic nervous system and thus increasing stress resistance.

The Vagusvit® app is based on the simple but effective technique of breathing training. It offers different breathing rhythms that can be customized to achieve optimal stimulation of the vagus nerve. One of the central breathing rhythms of the app, which is also recommended in the national care guidelines, consists of six breaths per minute. This rhythm has proven to be particularly effective in activating the vagus nerve and thus reducing stress.

The application is user-friendly and suitable for all age groups. Users can easily integrate the breathing exercises into their everyday life, whether at home, in the office or on the go. In addition, the app adapts to the individual needs of users by offering faster or slower breathing rhythms to support training progress. This means that every user can find and train at their own pace to find the optimal breathing rhythm.
